Anthropology 1030
I've gained a great deal from the attending this course. It's aided me in advancing my technical knowledge in the field of study, as well as in encouraging me to develop a critical, and rational view of the popular orthodoxies that exist. I've come to respect everything archaeological methodologies (from excavation to dating) to the popular theory of human prehistory, with it's competing conceptions of past and present. The questions that were raised throughout the course are complicated and by no means decided; however, within the critical view I gained throughout this course that will allow me to weigh and assess the data in a more rational and scientific manner. Below i've attached a copy of my final essay, comparing David Graeber's Debt: the first 5000 years, to the archaeological record.
